We are shocked and heartbroken by the devastating bushfires scorching across Australia. Our hearts go to our fellow Australians who have lost their home, and communities that are affected by these unprecedented bushfires. We are also deeply saddened by the loss of our beautiful and precious wildlife. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the volunteers, firefighters, emergency service personnel, Army reservists and community members who have worked tirelessly in providing help to those who need it most. Unfortunately, the crisis is not over yet and may not be for some time. As an Australian based business, we feel a deep responsibility to lend a helping hand. “Like many, we’ve been asking ourselves how we can help,” said Jonathan Walsh, General Manager of Esendex Australia. “Communication is crucial in times like this, and as an SMS provider, we think we should stick to what we are good at, that is to help organisations communicate in the most efficient and effective manner.” The team at Esendex Australia is proud to be partnering with The Salvation Army, in not only providing SMS credits to help them reach current and potential donors but also providing the skills and experience of our team to work alongside the wonderful team at The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army Disaster Appeal is raising much-needed funds to provide immediate relief and support to firefighters, emergency workers, evacuees, and communities by providing meals, bedding, care packs, and cash grants, their teams across the country assisting thousands of people each day. Esendex Australia has also launched an internal campaign across our global offices to help raise funds for the appeal.Over the course of the coming weeks and months, we will help The Salvation Army to send out messages to donors to thank them for their generous donations; and give them an update on what and how their donations have supported evacuees and emergency services during the current crisis. The road of recovery will be long. For those who have been severely impacted by the disaster with damage or loss of homes and livelihoods, it is important for them to be supported as they rebuild their lives. The Salvation Army is committed to helping these individuals and communities, and so are we. We are committed to providing The Salvation Army our ongoing support in helping them to call for donations for as long as it needs. Our commitment to help and support our fellow Australians does not stop here. If your organisation is looking to have more effective communication in relation to the bushfires, whether it is fundraising, communicating with staff and volunteers or providing mental health support to the wider communities, please reach out via 1300 764 946 or [email protected]. We will try our best to help.
